What does nature mean to you?

Nature is a glimpse at the complexity, diversity and beauty of our planet we call home.

Describe your ideal wilderness.

With local guardians being shown the wonders of pristine rainforests, sand deserts, and the African Savannah. Of late - a close encounter with a humpback whale in the Antarctic peninsular makes the quartet.

What project are you working on next?

Supporting a biodiversity survey of the Il Ngwesi Conservancy by the Maasai community in North Kenya.

What does movement mean to you?

Every step is very precious.

What books hAVE had the most notable impact on you & why?

Those that enhance our understanding of the complexity of nature - and urge us to complete the Geographical audit of the planet before we lose our precious natural heritage. Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring and Edward Wilson’s Half-Earth are two. But there are many more.

What piece of gear could you never leave behind?

My camera.
